Probably the last garage update

DSCN0457

The new garage that belongs to our arrogant, rude, and thoroughly unpleasant neighbor is nearing completion. Regular readers of this blog may recall that it is more than twice the size of our house, and is oriented in such a way as to completely block off our view of the water.

Over the last six months, we have gone from overlooking a wildflower meadow and the ocean to a sea of mud, a huge dumpster and a porta john, and now, turf grass. Boring old turf grass which he will most certainly spray with toxic chemicals. He already does this on the rest of his property – his property right on the salt pond. But that’s just the swell kind of guy he is.

Oh, and while we are all supposed to be on odd-even watering restrictions, his automatic sprinklers are soaking his dumb grass several times EVERY DAY! Where’s that lightning bolt when you need it?

Don’t tell me that in addition to a huge building with ugly turf grass (which I despise) this joker has the “garage” area air conditioned! What BS! I thought my neighbors were awful; yours take the blue ribbon.

  2. I guess the rules don’t apply to him. We have the same odd-even watering restrictions in our city. They are there for a reason. I’m surprised no one has reported your neighbor for breaking the law. Sounds like such a pleasant neighbor ;^/

If he would just disappear we would all be happy. He even threatened a 94-year-old neighbor who owns a house a few doors down, because she objected to the builders tossing debris into her yard during the garage construction.

Unless they have a well on their property, they are breaking the law and should be reported. What an (*&*$#. Sorry you have to endure this.

takes just one bad neighbour, to make life miserable for everybody. Hope the rest of you can find a way forward, around him. Our newish neighbour seems to have made a little progress with the Agent Orange lot. We’ll see. For us they are behind a concrete wall, for her, it’s just wire mesh and very in your face!

Well, at least it’s a pleasing brown and green and actually blends in to the background. It is too bad though that it has blocked your view of the water. Continue to plant giant perennials with spectacular form or color that bloom all summer and watch for the myriad of pollinators and you’ll soon forget about Mr. Nasty.
